Gabe Cummins (guitar/bass/piano/vocals)
Jazz/Blues/Latin/Funk
Gabe Cummins is a New York City-based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. In addition to maintaining a career as a full-time music instructor, he plays the role of lead guitarist to a number of Salsa and Latin Jazz bands in the city as well as band leader to the Gabe Cummins Trio, an electric R & B group.
Originally from central New York, he had the privilege of studying under guitar masters such as Mick Goodrick and Wayne Krantz, during a four-year tenure at the Berklee School of Music, and became a staff accompanist for Berklee's vocal department. Gabe graduated from Berklee Summa Cum Laude and went on to become an adjunct Professor of guitar at New York University, where he completed a Masters Degree in Performance and Composition.
Following his years of study, Gabe immersed himself in the thriving music scene of New York and went on to work with some of the biggest names in jazz, rock, funk and pop music; it's a list that includes John Scofield, Warren Haynes, Mavis Staples, John Mayer, Dr. John and Aaron Neville to name a few. In 2006, he released 'If You Were You', a collection of guitar-driven jazz and acid-jazz instrumentals, and has since built an impressive client base for private lessons on guitar, bass, and piano.
